Back from the land of Moose.

Well, Donna & I are finally back from Nova Scotia, with a boatload of memories and photos! Wow. What an awesome place.
We were traveling on a budget, but staying in B&B's (really the way to go, since you get great advice along with your breakfasts). Best places we saw: Baddeck (lower Cape Breton), the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton, and the Bay of Fundy in the northwest.
Best place for lobster, hands down: Hall's Harbor on the Bay of Fundy.
Best museum: a toss-up between the Maritime Museum in Halifax and the Alexander Graham Bell Museum in Baddeck.
Best B&B: Three Thistles in Mahone Bay.

Anyway, it's back to the frying pan now, with NGCF less than 2 weeks away (spent about 8 hours working on the program/webpage these last 2 days!) Plus the CD production schedule looks insane to try to get a release by Dragon*Con. EEEEEK!

As I said to the band: "These are the balls. There is the wall." Now let's see how bad it hurts to get 'em together...

*sigh* I wanna be back sailing on the schooner...

Schooner?

Come on, buddy, you can't expect to leave it like that without telling me which one, not with THIS icon!

Who was the captain? How long did you go for? How was it?

Re: Schooner?

You're right, that was a tease ;) It was the Amoeba, running short-hop trips out of Baddeck. Two-masted wishbone rig, about 70'. Don't remember the cap'ns name, but I do recall he said that his dad built the schooner over about 15 years, then sailed it nearly every day, up until the day before he died. Passed it on to his son, who seems to love it just as much! We saw a bald eagle nesting right off the bay, near the Alex. Bell mansion. I'll have photos up soon, never ya fear! I hear you're going back out to the tall ships too, lass! See ya at NGCF!
